Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Who do you see?
I work with everyone: children and their caregivers, adults, couples, and families.
2. What does a first session look like?
In an initial session, I would be interested in knowing what has brought you to counselling, get to know you, explore your strengths, talk about what hopes, goals, or possible outcomes you would like to see from our work together. I am interested in making our work effective for you.
3. How long are sessions?
Individual sessions are 50 minutes long and can be paid for with cash, cheque, or credit card. You will be provided with a receipt at your appointment.
4. Are services covered under OHIP or my private insurance?
Services provided by registered social workers, as with all other allied health professionals, are not covered under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Services may be covered by your insurance, EAP or other benefit provider. It is your responsibility for payment of services and for you to seek reimbursement; Tim will only provide information to providers with your implied consent. A receipt will be provided at the end of each session for reimbursement and tax purposes.
5. Do you see clients online?
Yes, please indicate in the note section when booking your appointment that you wish to attend online. You will receive an invoice in advance which must be paid in full. We typically use Zoom to meet online but can use FaceTime. Please note that FaceTime is compliant with personal health information protection however other video chat services like Skype are not. We also cannot guarantee privacy due to software or network security issues on your end. Please also note that Timothy Gordon is only credentialed to practice and regulated in Ontario, Canada. If you reside outside of Ontario your extended health benefits may not cover sessions or recognize his credentials.

Group Session Fee (Per Participant, Per Session): $85

As a Social Worker, I am respectful to different levels of income and am willing to use a sliding scale in special circumstances. If you need consideration for a sliding scale, contact me directly before making an appointment to discuss your situation. Appointments are made on a fee-for-service basis.
